POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, business‑minded leader for our US legal and compliance function for a growing pharmaceutical business. As VP, Head of Legal & Compliance Officer, US you will sit on the US leadership team and operate as a hands‑on partner to the business enabling growth, solving complex problems, and setting the ethical and compliance foundation for long‑term success. This role blends strategic leadership with day‑to‑day execution. You will shape commercial strategy, streamline legal and compliance operational topics, and lead Compliance & Ethics for our US organization, while working closely with US leadership and global legal and compliance colleagues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary legal partner to the US commercial and US-based R&D organizations, supporting growth, operational and lifecycle management activities.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a high volume of agreements, including customer, distributor, vendor, manufacturing, quality, clinical trial, research, service, healthcare interaction-related and confidentiality agreements.
- Provide practical legal guidance on commercialization, including buy‑and‑bill products, reimbursement models, patient assistance programs, and direct‑to‑patient engagement.
- Serve as a legal reviewer for promotional materials (LMR).
- Design and continuously improve legal processes, templates, and tools to support a fast‑moving commercial organization.
- Own and manage the US commercial legal budget and oversee external counsel.
- Lead US Compliance & Ethics
- Lead the execution and evolution of the US Compliance & Ethics strategy, aligned with global compliance programs.
- Facilitate a culture of ethical business behavior that is collaborative, transparent and accountable.
- Chair the US Compliance Committee and Local Ethics Committees.
- Mentor and lead a US Commercial Compliance Lead.
- Collaborate with US leadership to embed Compliance & Ethics considerations early and into business planning and decision-making.
- Lead training efforts to effectuate behavioral change if necessary or maintain the already established standard.
- Develop and conduct risk assessments (along with team) utilizing review and analysis of government enforcement and guidance trends, other program benchmarking, internal interviews, and other pertinent information/data. Use these assessments to help identify the significant areas of risk and present to internal stakeholders, including senior executive audiences.
- Lead internal investigations when assigned and manage relationships with regulators, customers, and patient organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS, CAREER EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a US law school; qualified to practice or serve as in‑house counsel
- 10 years of commercial legal experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
- Deep experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or closely related regulated industries.
- Strong background in commercial contracting, corporate governance, and compliance.
- Experience with buy‑and‑bill commercialization is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to operate in fast‑growing, entrepreneurial, or evolving organizations.
- Ability to develop, coach and guide a leadership team in the execution, strategies and realization of functional and company goals.

TRAVEL

Salary : $250,000 - $350,000
