Averill Hospitality is seeking an enthusiastic General Manager to lead our boutique hotel, The Firebrand. Located in downtown Whitefish, Montana, The Firebrand combines urban sophistication with the adventurous spirit of Northwest Montana.
Position Overview
The General Manager oversees all aspects of hotel operations, including lodging, food and beverage, spa services, and group functions. This role focuses on driving guest satisfaction, managing property maintenance, staffing, and financial performance, while setting goals for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire employees to uphold the highest standards of service.
- Foster strong guest relationships, particularly with VIPs, and be present during peak times.
- Engage with community groups and industry associations, ensuring the hotel’s active participation in relevant events.
- Direct operational costs, enhancing product and service quality.
- Oversee staff training and development initiatives.
- Maintain high standards through regular inspections and performance reviews.
- Address guest complaints promptly and manage recovery processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Schedule and lead regular team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; a 4-year degree in hospitality or business management preferred.
- 4-5 years of guest service experience and 3-4 years in a hotel GM or Director role are essential.
- Strong management skills, financial acumen, and the ability to build community relations.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient in intermediate math and computer software applications.
