Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $63,960.00 - $100,880.00 Position Highlights Provider will work 40 hours during the academic calendar with the Sioux Falls School District at either Lincoln High School or Patrick Henry Middle School. Provider will provide group and individual mental health therapy, chemical dependency assessments and other psychoeducation services. Provider will work 1 day a week during the summer months. May be eligible for an $8,000 sign on bonus! Student Loan Repayment: This position may be eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster. A Brief Overview Assists in coordinating, planning, implementing and facilitating programs and counseling services on an outpatient basis. The Outpatient Therapist's responsibilities may include several of the following areas: individual, group and family counseling, crisis services/evaluation, tele-therapy services, and current and future groups/programs. All of these areas may involve providing assessments, facilitating treatment and crisis intervention of clientele affected by mental health or dual diagnoses issues. Providing community/education services will be a part of this position and some travel is occasionally required. What you will do Coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment or referral of clients/patients presenting moderate to severe social adjustment problems. Adheres to policies which assure the confidentiality of client communications. Provides for a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to the treatment of clients, coordinating same with appropriate hospital departments. Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions in accordance with accepted principles of the National Association of Social Workers. Assesses progress of clients/patients and modify or extend treatment program accordingly. Coordinates care of clients/patients with referring physician or agency. Documents therapy in accordance with hospital policies and procedures on medical records. Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment such as substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes and other instances as outlined in hospital policy. Refers client or patient to outside agencies where appropriate. Communicates with family members/significant others in order to further the effectiveness of client/patient treatment and progress. Coordinates client/patient billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay. Provides educational programs on a variety of psychological topics to hospital/community groups as requested. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: Master's Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH) - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire or Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Private Independent Practice (LCSW-PIP) - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) - Board of Addiction and Prevention Professionals An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire or Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: 4-6 years Related experience and/or training Clinical experience facilitating group therapy sessions and providing individuals counseling services Experience working with clients having dual diagnoses issues (addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions) Clinical experience with couples and/or family therapy Expectations and Standards Commitment to the daily application of Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles to serve patients, their families, and our community.
