Work where you matter. A Brief Overview The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing specialized procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment. What you will do Schedules procedures and appropriate patient preparations, prepares, positions and instructs patients and adjusts equipment for procedures. Familiar with a wide variety of diagnostic and intervention procedures and oversees/coordinates with nursing staff, scrub techs and other techs or students throughout exam. Produces satisfactory images via digital imaging or hard film and presents them satisfactorily for radiologist interpretation. Maintains, orders, and evaluates products used for procedures. Demonstrates high level of patient care skills to assist nursing staff with caring for critically ill patients. Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Radiology Department, Quality Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines and others as required. Able to monitor all Hemodynamics during procedures. Understands human vasculature including cerebral circulation and anticipates the needs of the Physician supplies, equipment and medications as needed while maintaining a sterile environment. Possesses the ability to comprehend and interpret complex clinical subject matter related to the specialty. Demonstrates the ability to analyze data and formulate an appropriate plan of action and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
