Job Summary:
- The Pastoral Care Chaplain is responsible for and given the necessary authority for providing spiritual and emotional guidance, support and comfort to patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with the pastoral care department’s policies and procedures, through the ministries of pastoral care and liturgy appropriate to his/her position and to his/her functions as a member of the healthcare team
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year experience of pastoral care ministry in an acute care hospital preferred.
- Knowledge of and appreciation for the Christian witness inherent in the philosophy of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Services.
