Position Highlights Position Summary: The Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for delivering expert-level support in the repair, calibration, installation, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation, and healthcare support systems—including complex and life-support devices. This role ensures equipment reliability and compliance through thorough inspections, preventive maintenance, inventory audits, and performance testing. The technician diagnoses and resolves equipment and system malfunctions, documents all service activities, and oversees preventive maintenance completed by third-party vendors. Additional responsibilities include recommending new equipment and testing procedures, maintaining accurate equipment inventories, and supporting departmental improvements through review of maintenance outcomes. The position may also assist with advanced technical projects and participate in cross-training across multiple equipment modalities. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, eight hours per day. Supervisor will determine specific schedule. Required to be part of a rotating on-call schedule that includes nights and weekends. Education/Experience: Associates Degree in Bio-medical Technology or equivalent. Medical terminology course preferred. Minimum of two years related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment preferred.
