Job Summary:
Avera Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, document care according to policies and procedures, and follow directions from licensed therapists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care and documentation under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist
- Folows ethics and standards as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association and Avera policy and procedures
- Communicates effectively with therapists to ensure effective treatment
- Documents progress notes according to departmental policies
- Assists with paperwork activities, files charts, and other duties such as billing, documentation, correspondence, and file management
- Assists with clinical education of physical therapist assistant students
Requirements:
- Active license in the state of practice upon hire
- Associate's in Physical Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program (preferred)
- Less than 1 year related experience and/or training (preferred)
