AVER is seeking an experienced UI/UX Developer to perform User Interface and Interface Optimization support in support of the Department of Homeland SecurityThis role will provide user-centered design, application development, and interface modernization support to enhance the usability, functionality, and performance of data-driven tools, dashboards, and reporting systems. Responsibilities Include:

• Design and modernize user-centered applications, dashboards, reporting interfaces, and mission-support tools
• Translate business and operational requirements into intuitive, efficient, user-friendly solutions
• Analyze workflows to identify process improvements and streamline user interactions across systems and applications
• Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and interface designs for application development and modernization
• Partner with stakeholders, developers, data analysts, and product teams to define functional and technical requirements
• Improve interfaces to strengthen functionality, navigation, usability, accessibility, and the overall user experience
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, and related technologies
• Support data integration across multiple sources and SQL-based platforms, including Redshift, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
• Contribute to architecture discussions to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with mission objectives
• Conduct usability testing, user acceptance testing, and validation to confirm solutions meet business and user requirements
• Apply accessibility standards and user experience best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, workflow diagrams, user guides, and development materials
• Support application sustainment, system enhancements, defect resolution, and ongoing modernization
• Coordinate daily development activities and track progress against team priorities and project objectives
• Use Adobe Photoshop and related design tools to create interface assets and visual elements
• Provide technical and analytical support to assess existing systems and recommend usability and functionality improvements
• Collaborate across teams to deliver mission-aligned solutions that improve processes, reporting, and operational effectiveness

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant technical field

Experience Requirements:

• 15 years of professional work experience within data analysis, assessment and/or reporting
• Experience supporting UI/UX design, application modernization, or dashboard and reporting solutions
• Ability to translate user needs and business requirements into wireframes, prototypes, or functional interface designs
• Knowledge of usability, accessibility, and user-centered design practices
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to gather feedback and refine solutions
• Experience using common design or visualization tools to create mockups, dashboards, or interface assets
• Ability to independently lead high-visibility, mission-critical projects from concept through delivery

• Ability to comprehend advanced technical concepts
• Experience supporting the Federal Government, such as the Department of Homeland Security, is preferred

• REMOTE (Local to Washington, DC)

Security Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
• This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenship
