Position Summary
The Summer Intern Data Analyst position in Lab & Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) Data Analysis & Automation is designed for undergraduate students interested in data science, statistics, or related fields. The role involves working with laboratory and patient-reported outcome data, automating extraction and analysis processes, and supporting AVEO Oncology projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate workflows for the automatic extraction and structuring of laboratory and patient-reported outcome (PRO) data from PDF files, including table extraction and text parsing, to create analysis-ready formats.
- Perform data cleaning, conduct quality checks, and maintain documentation to ensure traceability and reproducibility of data processes.
- Create descriptive summaries, exploratory analyses, and visualizations that effectively communicate key trends and findings within collected data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as lab operations, translational science, and clinical teams to understand data context and requirements.
- Contribute to code reviews and version-controlled development as needed and prepare clear handoff documentation for ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- Sophomore or junior undergraduate, majoring in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in R and/or Python.
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling complex, real-world datasets and refining solutions through iterative processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly and document work effectively.
Internship Details
- Duration: 12 weeks
