Certified Investigator

Avenues is seeking an as-needed, Certified Investigator for their non-profit human services organization, working with adults with disabilities. This position will require the candidate to be certified or be willing to become certified.

This position will receive notifications of incidents throughout the organization and have to investigate the situation to collect evidence of what happened, which includes interviewing staff and supervisors.

*MUST BE ABLE TO MEET ODP CERTIFIED INVESTIGATOR REQUIREMENTS*

SCHEDULE: The position is intermittent, on-call, and allows for a flexible schedule as long as timelines are carefully followed.

Program Specific Duties:

• Maintain the 3-year Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) certified investigator requirements and pass the recertification when due
• Provide Avenues with a copy of the current Certificate
• Be available to do initial interviews in person within 24 hours of an investigation assignment
• Meet all ODP timelines for the certified investigator process
• Follow all Investigation requirements set forth by the Office Of Developmental Programs
• Complete timesheets and mileage logs to be allocated to the department involved
• Ensure all collected evidence is sent to Avenues to be maintained in a safe secure location
• Maintain access to the Enterprise Incident Management system (User ID and passwords)
• Provide the initial investigative summary in a timely manner to the Administrative team
• Be available to meet with the Administrative team for questions/clarification for an Investigation
• Be available to participate in the Peer review process for Certified Investigations
• Make recommendations regarding corrective action for programs based upon any information provided during the investigative process as needed
• Follow Avenues Incident Management and abuse policies and procedures
• Remain up-to-date on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of Developmental Programs, Incident Management and Certified Investigation requirements
• Complete all necessary paperwork for Certified Investigations and provide all originals to Avenues
• Attend monthly human rights team meetings virtually
• Scan & email complete investigatory file & evidence to Avenues

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2 years of investigative and/or operational job-related experience. Completion of CI Certification Course upon hire. Above average verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Acceptable results on all pre-employment testing, background checks, clearances, and all renewal testing. Comply with all physical demands of the job (with or without reasonable accommodation).
