About the senior property manager position:
- Lead and support a large, cross-functional team including leasing, maintenance, and operations
- Set clear expectations and create an environment where associates feel supported and accountable
- Oversee daily operations across leasing, service requests, and resident experience
- Use data and reporting tools to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and guide decision-making
- Develop and execute strategies that support occupancy, revenue, and overall property performance
- Partner with clients to align on goals, provide updates, and implement action plans
- Ensure policies and practices are followed, including Fair Housing compliance
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for the property
- Create a consistent and welcoming experience for residents across all touchpoints
- Lead by example, reinforcing a culture of respect, service, and accountability
Education and Experience:
- Experience leading a large property or portfolio, ideally in a luxury or high-rise environment
- Proven ability to manage large teams and develop strong leaders
- Strong operational knowledge across leasing, maintenance, and financial performance
- Confidence using data to guide decisions and improve outcomes
- Clear and professional communication skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and daily execution
- Commitment to creating a positive experience for residents and a supportive environment for associates
- High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Three plus years of experience in property management is required
- Two years of direct management experience is required
- Knowledge of resident rental lifecycle activities is required
- Real estate license is preferred or may be required in some locations
- Knowledge of Salesforce.com is preferred
- Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred
Skills and Requirements:
- Very strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively and sensitively communicate with all levels of management
- Intermediate level knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Sensitivity to confidential matters is required
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail, quickly and accurately
- Capability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English
- Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key track system
- Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance is required
- Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
