About The Opportunity
The HR User Experience Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the end-to-end employee journey within the organization—from initial hiring to retirement.
This role ensures that every touchpoint, process, and interaction is optimized for employee satisfaction, engagement, and efficiency, leveraging best practices in HR, technology, and organizational development.
This position is hybrid and flexible (40% on-site / 60% remote) in Oakland.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition Experience
- Collaborate with recruitment teams to streamline application and onboarding processes.
- Develop user-friendly communication materials for candidates and new hires.
- Monitor candidate feedback and adjust processes to enhance experience.
Onboarding & Integration
- Design and manage onboarding programs that foster engagement and belonging.
- Coordinate with IT, facilities, and managers to ensure seamless transitions for new
- employees.
- Gather feedback from new hires to identify opportunities for improvement.
Employee Development & Engagement
- Implement tools and platforms that support ongoing learning and development.
- Facilitate employee surveys, focus groups, and engagement initiatives.
- Analyze engagement metrics and recommend strategies to boost morale and retention.
Performance Management & Recognition
- Support transparent, user-friendly performance review processes.
- Promote recognition programs that celebrate employee contributions.
- Ensure feedback mechanisms are accessible and actionable.
Benefits & Well-being
- Manage communication and access to benefits, wellness programs, and support resources.
- Gather employee input to improve benefits offerings and delivery.
- Partner with vendors to enhance benefit user experience.
- Offboarding & Retirement
- Design thoughtful offboarding processes for retiring and departing employees.
- Coordinate exit interviews and capture lessons learned.
- Ensure retirees have access to relevant resources and support.
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor HR experience metrics and implement process enhancements.
- Champion a culture of innovation and employee-centricity within HR.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in HR, employee experience, or user experience roles
- Proficiency with HRIS, onboarding, and employee engagement platforms
- Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills
- Empathy and passion for delivering exceptional employee experiences.
- Ability to see the employee journey holistically and identify pain points
- Proactive in seeking feedback and driving improvements
- Collaborative approach with HR, IT, management, and external partners

A reasonable estimate of the current range for a UX Specialist is from $135k to $140k yearly.
