Duties
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the bakery or food production area, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently and to high standards
- Oversee cake decorating, pastry assembly, and food presentation to create visually appealing products that delight customers
- Manage packaging processes to ensure products are properly prepared for sale or delivery, maintaining freshness and quality
- Train and mentor team members in food preparation, safety protocols, knife skills, baking techniques, and customer service best practices
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all stages of production
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain inventory levels of ingredients such as flour, sugar, icing, and other bakery essentials
- Assist in menu development by experimenting with new recipes and decorating styles to keep offerings innovative and exciting
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts within a commercial kitchen or bakery environment
- Must be legal to work in the USA
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices in the food industry
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques including baking, food preparation, and culinary arts
- Prior experience in food production or catering settings preferred; restaurant experience is a plus
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Familiarity with packaging processes for baked goods or prepared foods
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
