Job Summary:
The Security Engineer will be a critical piece to the Information Security team, driving the design, implementation, and technical controls that protect the organization and meet compliance requirements. You will play a hands-on role in hardening our environment, supporting detection and response, and enabling secure business operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building scalable, secure solutions in a fast-moving environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Security Analysts to design, implement, and maintain security technologies such as EDR, Web App Firewalls, identity platforms, and vulnerability management utilities.
- Review and enhance security architecture for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
- Build and automate security configurations and guard rails.
- Collaborate with Security Analysts during incident response events.
- Conduct regular patching, vulnerability prioritization, and remediation planning with IT and development teams.
- Strengthen identity and access management systems, including MFA, SSO, and least-privilege design.
- Conduct periodic access reviews and enforce privileged access controls.
- Automate evidence collection, alert enrichment, and reporting.
- Build internal tools or scripts to reduce manual effort and improve response times.
- Provide security consultations for new products, projects, and architectural changes.
- Deliver training or guidance to employees on secure practices and technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience building detections or automation pipelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3 years of experience in security engineering or a closely related technical security role.
- Hands-on experience with common security tools (EDR, SIEM, IAM, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, etc.).
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) or Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Strong familiarity with networking fundamentals, system administration, and secure architecture principles.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Sec , CYSA , Azure/AWS security specialty).
Work Environment:
- Office setting with a moderate noise level.
- The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
- Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
- Occasional movement around the office.
- Frequent communication via telephone.
