Aventus Group is an international fintech company operating in 25 countries across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. We are now launching our next growth chapter which is entering the U.S. market.
We are looking for a Legal Counsel to lead and build our U.S. legal and compliance function from the ground up. You will report directly to the CEO and act as a strategic partner across the business.
What you’ll do:
- Lead legal risk management and build scalable compliance frameworks for U.S. lending operations;
- Oversee all legal and compliance functions of a Texas-based Credit Access Business (CAB) structure;
- Ensure full compliance with Texas Finance Code (Chapter 393) and applicable federal consumer finance laws (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP);
- Structure and maintain compliant relationships between the CAB and third-party lenders;
- Draft and negotiate key commercial agreements, including debt facilities and vendor contracts;
- Oversee consumer-facing documentation (loan agreements, disclosures, fee structures);
- Manage litigation, regulatory audits, inquiries, and relationships with regulators;
- Advise senior management on legal risks, business structure, and market expansion strategy;
- Support the launch, scaling, and multi-state expansion of personal installment loan products;
- Coordinate and manage external counsel.
Major requirements:
- Experience with CAB (Credit Access Business) models is a must-have;
- Law degree and eligibility to practice in the U.S.;
- 5 years of legal experience in consumer lending or financial services;
- Strong background in personal installment lending (short-term lending experience is a plus);
- Deep knowledge of U.S. state lending regulations and federal consumer finance laws;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment - hands-on, adaptable, and proactive.
