Activities Assistant Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervision & Direction
- Work under the direction of the Activities Director, following all instructions and assigned tasks.
- Carry out daily activity schedules as planned.
- Lead or facilitate activities in the absence of the Activities Director.
- Activity Setup & Organization
- Set up activity rooms, materials, and equipment prior to programs.
- Clean up activity areas after each program.
- Maintain organization of supplies and storage areas.
- Assist with decorating for holidays, events, and special occasions.
- Resident Engagement & Participation
- Invite and encourage residents to attend activities by knocking on doors and making personal invitations.
- Escort or assist residents to and from activity areas as needed.
- Provide one-on-one and group engagement based on resident interests and abilities.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all residents.
- Resident Support & Care
- Assist residents with seating, comfort, and participation during activities.
- Offer a helping hand to ensure residents feel supported and included.
- Distribute snacks, water, and beverages during programs.
- Monitor residents and report any concerns or changes to appropriate staff.
- Communication & Social Interaction
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation to support emotional well-being.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding resident needs and participation.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines.
- Ensure activity areas remain safe and hazard-free.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and notify staff when needed.
- Documentation & Team Support
- Track attendance and participation as directed.
- Assist with planning and implementing activities and events.
- Collaborate with the Activities Director and team to enhance programming.
Salary : $15 - $17
