Job Summary: The Resident Nursing Assistant (RA) provides direct care to residents, assists the clinical team with activities of daily living, and works under the supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with facility policies and procedures. This person reports resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse.
Responsibilities and Major Duties:
Position Qualifications:
The ability to read/write/comprehend the English language in written and verbal form is required. Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally is also required. Successful completion and/or compliance with required background checks, including Ohio BCI&I fingerprint analysis, FBI fingerprint analysis (if applicable), Nurse Aide Registry, HHS/OIG list of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE), and Ohio Medicaid Provider Exclusion and Suspension List, are necessary.
Responsibilities and Major Duties:
- 1. Timely and accurately document all resident-related activities according to facility policy.
2. Notify licensed nurses of resident information changes, such as weight loss or skin condition changes.
3. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's), including feeding, bathing, dressing, transferring, ambulation, loco motion, personal hygiene, and toileting.
4. Obtain labs/vitals as directed by licensed nurses.
5. Follow infection control and safety procedures.
6. Attend scheduled staff meetings, educational meetings/in-services, and other related employment meetings.
7. Participate in resident activities to create a home-like environment within the assigned facility.
8. Ensure HIPAA regulations compliance.
9. Welcome visitors, guests, and family members respectfully within the facility.
10. Maintain a safe and sanitary living environment for residents.
11. Adhere to infection control policies within the assigned facility.
12. Follow Residents' Rights policies at all times.
13. Comply with facility policies and procedures.
14. Adhere to the Corporate Integrity Program and Performance Expectations at all times.
15. Perform other related duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or person of authority.
