Position Description
ELOS is seeking a North Carolina based “on-site” project specific Environmental Compliance Inspector to provide daily onsite inspections, monitor permit compliance, and record onsite activities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may Include, But Are Not Limited To)
- Travel from location to location ensuring debris removal is conducted within compliance of the project permit, at times, this travel may be by boat
- Document starting and ending GPS coordinates daily
- Document cleared linear feet daily
- Photo evidence of debris removal approximately every 50-feet, tag each photo with GPS location and submit daily
- Review project specs and be stern with Contractor on expectations, communicate any questions with supervisor
- Walk banks to make sure Contractor employees are following guidelines of removal, point out any problems and address them with Contractor
- Report and address all fluid spills immediately
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in biology, ecology, rangeland sciences, wildlife management or a related field
Requirements/Desired Skills
- Must have own transportation, fuel, and valid insurance
- Experience with and ability to use a smart phone or tablet
- Physically able to walk and/or wade through waterways where applicable
- Physically able to work from a boating platform
- Ability to operate a boat/canoe/kayak safely
- Ability to stay aware of surroundings and potential hazards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Must pass background check
- Must pass drug test when required for Federal work or when required by designated project contract
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
