Administrative Assistant

ELOS Environmental, an Aventia Company (ELOS) is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant. ELOS’s expertise is ensuring environmental compliance with Federal, State, and Local enforcement agencies. Our goal is to assist clients in developing an approach to environmental compliance that balances development with natural and cultural resources protection.

Position Description

ELOS is seeking an Administrative Assistant to perform various administrative and clerical tasks to support operations within our Hammond office. The successful applicant must have the ability to work diligently to help maintain smooth, efficient office operations, and must be reliable and hardworking with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may Include, But Are Not Limited To)

  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Making phone calls
  • Taking and distributing messages
  • Assisting with business development tasks
  • Assisting with bids and proposals preparation and research
  • Organizing and scheduling appointments
  • Organizing and coordinating meetings
  • Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Compiling records of office activities
  • Photocopying, scanning, and faxing
  • Sending emails
  • Preparing and sending outgoing mailings and packages
  • Typing documents and correspondence
  • Checking and entering data
  • Updating and maintaining databases
  • Coordinating work flow
  • Monitoring and ordering inventory of office supplies
  • Keeping office area neat and tidy, periodical cleaning
  • Running office errands

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience/Desired Skills

  • Preferred 1 year of customer service experience
  • Preferred 1 year of office admin experience
  • Proficient in email communication, internet usage and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Accurate keyboard skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
