About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Tax Director will oversee all aspects of tax strategy, filings, and compliance with a focus on income and indirect taxes to start. This leader will ensure timely, accurate, and transparent tax reporting for management, auditors, and regulatory authorities while establishing scalable processes to support the company’s growth. The Tax Director will also play a vital role in tax planning initiatives, risk management, and monitoring evolving tax regulations. Additionally, this role will collaborate closely with finance, operations, and executive leadership to optimize tax positions, support business transactions, and drive process improvements to enable sustainable growth and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies with a focus on corporate income and indirect taxes (sales, use, VAT) to minimize tax liabilities
- Monitor and interpret changes in federal, and state tax laws and adjusting company tax policies
Tax Compliance
- Manage and ensure timely compliance with federal, state, and local income tax filings, including corporate tax returns and estimated payments
Tax Execution
- Lead the organization’s indirect tax activities, including sales tax, VAT, GST, and other consumption taxes, ensuring compliance and efficient processes
- Coordinate and manage external consultants and parties to executing the Company’s tax strategy
- Coordinate tax audits and manage correspondence with tax authorities as required
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Support M&A activities through tax due diligence, structuring, and post-merger integration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CTA a plus
- 10 years of comprehensive tax experience, including corporate and indirect taxes (sales tax, VAT, etc.)
- Proven expertise in managing multi-jurisdictional tax compliance and planning
- Experience in managing tax audits and working with government agencies
- Proficiency in tax software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
- Proven success managing external consultants and building scalable processes in high-growth environments
