What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Avenir Behavioral Health Center?
Avenir Behavioral Center is a 32-bed adult Behavioral Hospital. We are looking for an emotionally intelligent social worker to act as advocate and help people foster their capabilities and coping mechanisms in order to improve and better their daily lives and experiences, within specified standards and timescales.
Position Summary:
- Resource person to healthcare professionals concerning psycho-social problems, community resources.
- Completes tasks which include the assessment, treatment plan development, and treatment of patients.
- Provides individual and group therapy.
- Creates safe discharge plan for all patients
Education required:
- Master's Degree in Behavioral Health Field preferred or Master's Degree in another field in good standing can be accepted with adequate direct-care behavioral-health field related experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Preferred AZ State Associate Level Licensure (LMSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), or AZ State Independent Level Licensure (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- CPI/CPR/ BLS per policy is required.
Experience:
- With relevant degree in the BH field, at least two or more years of previous experience in all aspects of social services with an emphasis in the behavioral health setting, experience working with clinical multidisciplinary teams.
- One year of in-patient health experience as a social worker or with a behavioral health population.
- Clinical training in evidence-based treatment modalities including individual, group and family interventions.
- If lacking appropriate BH degree, 5 years minimum, relevant experience is required in in-patient care, with a seriously mentally ill population, etc.
