What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist position at Avecina Medical?
Avecina Medical has an opening for a full time medical biller and coder. The position can be performed either at our St Johns country office on CR210.
Here are the requirements:
-Experience managing A/Rs and denials- EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
-A minimum of 5yrs working history as a biller and coder
- Proficiency with computers and medical billing software
- Understanding of primary code classifications: ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS
- Collect, post, and manage patient account payments
- Submit claims to insurance
- Prepare and review patient statements
- Investigate rejected claim to see why denial was issued
- Knowledge of unfair debt collection practices and insurance guidelines
- Communication skills with patients/healthcare companies
