Position: Robotics Maintenance Technician
Type: 1099 Contract (2-Month Engagement, with extension possible)
Location: Grapevine, TX
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Robotics Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing operations team. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our robotic systems to ensure continuous and efficient manufacturing operations. You will respond to equipment issues, perform routine maintenance, diagnose problems, and execute repairs using mechanical expertise and hands-on problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and associated equipment on the manufacturing floor
- Respond to robot malfunctions and operational issues reported by floor staff or remote operators
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using troubleshooting procedures and technical knowledge
- Replace defective or worn parts with precision and attention to detail
- Perform alignment, fitting, and assembly of component parts using hand tools and precision equipment
- Calibrate and fine-tune robotic systems to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor robot performance continuously and identify potential issues before they impact production
- Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation
- Coordinate with remote VR operators and engineering teams to communicate issues and solutions
- Support basic component fabrication using 3D printing when needed for replacement parts
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new robotic systems
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience servicing or maintaining mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment
- Proven experience with troubleshooting and repair of equipment
- Strong proficiency with hand tools and precision measurement tools
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles and basic electrical systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and service manuals
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Reliable work ethic with excellent attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial robots (any brand: FANUC, ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, etc.)
- Certification in robotics maintenance or industrial maintenance
- Background as a technician, electrician, or similar skilled trade
- Familiarity with 3D printing or additive manufacturing
- Experience reading robot controller interfaces or basic PLC systems
- Background in equipment assembly or component replacement
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at various heights
- Able to stand, walk, and work on the manufacturing floor for extended periods
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor control
- Comfortable working around machinery and in the manufacturing environment
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $24–$32/hr depending on experience and qualifications
- Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
- Duration: 2-Month Engagement
- Schedule: Full-time, regular shifts
