Overview of DSP Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide hands-on support to adults with disabilities in a group home setting while also encouraging participation in creative and therapeutic activities including music, art, recreation, and community involvement.
This is more than a caregiving role — it’s about building relationships, supporting independence, and helping create a safe, engaging, and uplifting environment.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living skills and personal goals
- Assist with cooking, cleaning, medication administration, hygiene, and routines
- Encourage independence and community participation
- Participate in music, art, recreational, and creative activities alongside residents
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and welcoming home environment
- Transport residents to appointments, outings, and activities as needed
- Complete documentation and communicate effectively with team members
- Build respectful, supportive relationships with residents and coworkers

- Flexible and willing to jump in where needed
- Interest in creativity, music, art, or therapeutic programming
- Experience in human services or caregiving is helpful, but not required
- Valid drivers license and dependable transportation required
- High School Diploma or GED required
