Position Overview: Participates in the delivery of individual client care.

Specific Responsibilities
· Completes all tasks on your “Shift Checklist” by the end of your shift. This is where time management and prioritization are important.
· Calls supervisor whenever unsure of something. Someone from management will always be available to guide you through a complicated situation.
· Greet & welcome clients in a professional and courteous manner.
· Provide tour of facility with all new clients.
· Conduct property search on all client's property and itemize all items on agency
document.
· Demonstrates maturity, poise, diplomacy, and tact in all situations. Conveys a positive personal and professional image.
· Possesses a high level of integrity. You must work smart and efficient independently. In most cases there will be 1 BHT per house, per shift.
· Possesses the ability to harmoniously work with a broad range of teammates, from all walks of life, living a variety of lifestyles. This applies to working with clients as well as other team members.
· Displays a high level of motivation and enthusiasm for tasks.
· Assists clients in activities. This may include light physical activities such as hiking.
· When out in public (meetings, activities, etc) you are a representative of the organization but also of recovery on a broad scale. You must treat others with respect, care, and dignity.
· The clients that you are responsible for are also representatives of the same thing; make sure they know how to behave going into every situation.
· Recovery meetings we go to are for the clients FIRST. Your responsibility there is as a BHT. Of course, soak in as much as you can, but only when the clients are all doing what they are supposed to be doing.
· Activities, while fun for staff too, are also for the clients FIRST. You may participate in any event or activity that you are chaperoning, it is encouraged. However, you still must place the safety of the clients above all.
· Encourage and promote client involvement in all activities and meetings. But NEVER shame a client for not participating.
· Assists with verbal de-escalation and the monitoring of clients.
· Conduct “cues” as often as your Shift Checklist calls for (while out or at home just make sure you “put eyes” on each client once in the given time frames:
o Once every 30 minutes 8am-10pm
o Once every hour from 10pm-2am
o Every other hour from 2am-8am (check at 2am, 4am, & 6am)
o Certain clients will need to be checked on more frequently.
· If a client goes missing and its been longer than an hour since you put eyes on that client; you will be held responsible via an employee corrective action plan.
· The corrective action for this offense will always state that if it happens again, you are at risk for being terminated.
· Complete client survey with all clients:
o First Monday of each month
· Document any observed behaviors exhibited by clients in your shift report
· Shift Reports will be completed via the shared document in Microsoft OneDrive.
· When complete, save YOUR draft as a pdf, attach it to an email, subject line: AM/PM/ON Shift Report (Wednesday 9.4.24), and email
· Supervise and conduct Medication Observation with each client to ensure they are taking the right doses, of the right medications, at the right times.
· Report any medication noncompliance to your supervisor via text message once you have completed that clients meds and they have walked away, and also document it in your shift report.
· Conduct room or body searches when scheduled or prompted to by a supervisor.
· Flexible to meet client and staff needs.
· May be responsible for picking up client medication from local pharmacy, as needed.
· Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
· Flexibility to change schedules and work different shifts when necessary (unless otherwise identified and approved in the pre-employment process).
· Supervise clients at the grocery store
· Assist in keeping the house clean and doing minor chores per your shift checklists.
· Approach clients with an offer to help rather than a demand to complete.
· Prepare clients’ personnel belongings prior to discharge.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop effective working relationships with staff & clients (medical & clinical).
· Understand the principles of 12-Step Programs and how they apply to the recovery
process of the addicted client.
· Perform other tasks as necessary or as assigned by a member of ARDC Administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 9 months of continuous sobriety, if you are a person in recovery.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license (not required for overnight shift, but preferred).
- Must at least have some knowledge of the basic functions on a variety of word processors, spreadsheets, and shared document drives.
- Some familiarity with behavior modification or 12-step modality and understands the need for continued maintenance of these modalities.
- Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
- Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.
Work Environment: This job operates primarily within a DCA Licensed Community Sober Living Residence. Most of your time will be spent in a residential home where our clients live while they are in a treatment program. However, you will also take the clients to public places such as AA/NA meetings and to various activities we provide. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. It also requires the ability to safely operate a 12-15 passenger van. Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
