Avanzar Wellness is looking to hire a Certified Peer Support Provider, with a Youth Certificate or willingness to obtain one, to work with individuals of different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds in and around the Boise area.
Peer Support providers use their lived recovery experience and training to engage, motivate, and assist adult clients with defining their goals for recovery and helping them develop a self-identified recovery plan. They assist clients with developing the skills needed to take a proactive role in their own treatment and help them connect to resources and individuals within their self-defined community.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assessing client needs and goals.
- Assisting client with developing recovery goals.
- Connecting client to resources and community supports.
- Advocating on behalf of client.
- Sharing personal recovery story to engage, motivate, and instill hope.
- Working with other providers and agencies to ensure client has support needed for success.
Qualifications:
- Have CPSS training and hold a 6 month provisional or 1 year CPSS certification from BPA.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle with adequate insurance.
- Have a flexible schedule.
- Be able to type and use a computer.
- Be able to meet deadlines.
- Be able to communicate effectively, advocate, conduct research, and be resourceful.
- Be willing to share your recovery story to motivate clients.
- Be caring, outgoing, and empathetic.
