Phlebotomy Supervisor/Floater (Edison, NJ)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and experienced Phlebotomy Supervisor to oversee multiple Avantic Medical Lab locations. This position combines Supervision tasks along with phlebotomy coverage. We are looking for someone with 5 years of phlebotomy experience, reliable, personable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to supervise and support our Phlebotomy Team. The Candidate must be a team player who can strive in a busy but rewarding environment.

This is a full-time position, including weekends

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the phlebotomist Team at multiple Avantic Medical Lab locations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Supervise phlebotomy staff, providing guidance and support to enhance performance and professional development
• Manage patient service activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of specimens
• Implement and maintain procedures that meet quality assurance standards
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and service delivery
• Conduct training sessions for staff on techniques, including venipuncture and other relevant procedures

Skills

• Strong knowledge of phlebotomy compliance within a clinical setting
• Proficient in laboratory procedures and practices, particularly in a hospital environment
• Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively
• Solid understanding of patient service protocols and patient care best practices
• Strong familiarity with venipuncture (both - Pediatric and Adults) techniques and related laboratory processes
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, patients, and healthcare providers

Qualifications:

• NJ Certified Phlebotomist with at least 5 years of experience
• Strong understanding of workflow, compliance and regulations
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Proficient with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• 3 Professional references

Work Environment:

• This role requires travel 75% between multiple sites as needed.
• Must be available Monday to Saturday, with occasional extended hours based on operational needs.
