What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courier/Messenger position at AVANT BUSINESS SERVICES MASTER?
- The biggest responsibility is a daily run from our office to our 4 other NYC locations (our properties), to deliver mail/packages and pick up items for return to our office. Sometimes the pickups may larger like a box or a piece of IT equipment.
- There are frequent other “by hand” deliveries to other companies.
- Daily mail sorting (we will provide instruction on what to look for/how to sort)
- Box packing/shipping of items especially during our charity events.
- Daily run to the post office and FedEx to drop off outgoing items. Sometimes including more complex post office items such as registered/certified mail.
- Helping to stock paper for copiers/printers, and stock breakroom supplies.
- Packing files/office items for internal moves, shredding papers
Qualifications:
- Must be willing to work in any weather condition (heat, rain, snow, etc.)
- Must be able to lift/carry/handle/transport up to 50 lbs. (unassisted)
- Prior customer service and delivery experience desired
- Comfort /familiarity with basic smartphone operations
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively read in English
- Must have updated active smartphone with internet service and In Good Condition (i.e. No Cracked Screens) Ability to utilize smartphones for two-way communication with our Operations Team
- Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture
