Responsibilities
- Read and record electric meter indexes into computerized handheld systems.
- Responsible for accurate and timely meter readings of electric and gas meters.
- Report hazardous conditions, meter tampering and meter conditions.
- Timely completion of assignments.
- Assist in ensuring data integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety policies and practices.
- Maintain current meter location records and maps.
- Responsible for protection and maintenance of all assigned company equipment.
- Work field collections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to work in various weather conditions including heat/cold, rain and snow.
- Must be willing to work extra hours as required, including storm work.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must successfully complete background check, drug screen and audiogram.
- Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to complete physically demanding tasks on a daily basis.
- Previous experience as a meter reader or experience driving a company vehicle a plus but not a requirement.
