Job Summary
The Analyst Credit – Ld/Sr oversees the company’s portfolio of guarantees, letters of credit (LCs), surety bonds, and escrow accounts. This role partners extensively across Treasury, Legal, Risk, Operations, and multiple banking institutions to ensure accurate issuance, maintenance, reporting, and cost‑efficient management of all collateral instruments. The position also administers Treasury systems supporting collateral and LC activity, including SAP and SUGAR.

The Analyst Credit – Ld/Sr role reports to the Manager - Credit.
Key Responsibilities
Collateral & Letter of Credit Management
- Manage a collateral portfolio of approximately $7.3B, including over 500 parent guarantees, letters of credit, surety bonds, cash postings, and escrow accounts.
- Coordinate with Treasury to negotiate with banks on new and renewed LC facilities and collateral capacity.
- Review and negotiate LC forms and text with banks and internal Legal teams.
- Coordinate with the Treasury Spain team on guaranty and LC issuance and lifecycle maintenance.
- Oversee LC capacity across 14 banks, identifying and executing cost‑efficiency opportunities such as LC replacements and fee optimization.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including:
- Treasury (for guaranty, escrow, and LC processes),
- Legal (for document negotiation),
- Insurance/Risk (for surety and guarantee oversight),
- Accounting teams (for cash postings and collateral fee payments),
- Project teams.
- Work collaboratively with Treasury on:
- LC rate and bank facility negotiations,
- Collateral fee payments,
- Escrow account issuance and ongoing maintenance.
- Administer and coordinate the Collateral Subcommittee process, including preparation of materials, approvals, and executive‑level reporting.
- Produce reports and presentations for senior leadership summarizing collateral activity, risk exposure, and banking relationships.
- Authorize and submit collateral‑related bank instructions and documents.
- Maintain collateral‑related data, workflows, and reconciliations in SAP and Paragon.
- Manage SUGAR, the SAP Treasury module used for LC, surety bond, and guarantee processing.
- Ensure accurate bank invoice processing and collateral fee payments via SAP.
- Continually enhance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and risk control in collateral operations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Trading, Origination, and Commercial teams.
- Review and approve new counterparties, suppliers, and deal structures from a credit risk perspective.
- Support structuring of power purchase agreements.
- Expertise in Treasury operations, banking products, and LC/guaranty structures.
- Strong negotiation skills with banks and financial institutions.
- High proficiency with SAP (including Treasury modules), Paragon, and collateral workflow tools.
- Ability to manage high‑value portfolios with precision and tight control.
- Excellent cross‑functional communication and executive reporting capabilities.
- Continually enhance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and risk control in collateral operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field of study and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of Credit, Energy Trading and/or Risk Management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong financial analysis and cash flow modeling skills.
- Solid understanding of contracts and procurement structures.
- MBA or MS degree in Finance, CFA, FRM, or equivalent certification.
- Prior experience in energy trading, utilities, renewables, or infrastructure
- Prior experience in procurement or supplier risk management environments
- Experience with project finance, EPC contracts, or renewable asset development.
- Familiarity with ISDA, NAESB, supply agreements, and performance security instruments.
- Experience working with ETRM/CTRM, ERP, or vendor risk platforms.
