Drafter 3 – Manufacturing Plant Layout

Location: Pinetops, NC – Onsite
Contract: 6 Months, Contract Only (Potential Extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; one Saturday per month, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
Job Summary
Avanciers are seeking a Drafter 3 / Manufacturing Layout Specialist to support the transformation and optimization of a production facility. This role will develop and maintain accurate 2D/3D plant layouts, support process engineering initiatives, and ensure digital plant models accurately reflect physical manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive 2D and 3D manufacturing plant layouts using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Create and optimize layouts for production lines, equipment, work areas, and facility expansions.
- Maintain and update the plant Factory Twin/digital factory model to reflect physical layout changes.
- Integrate new layout projects into the master plant layout while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Review existing layouts and identify opportunities for improved space utilization, workflow, and production efficiency.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, process engineering, project, and operations teams to resolve layout conflicts and constraints.
- Incorporate engineering changes, equipment moves, facility modifications, and production-line transformations into master layouts.
- Ensure drawings and digital models meet accuracy, consistency, and project requirements.
- Support layout development for plant renovations, production-line changes, and new facility extensions.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing layout development, plant layout, drafting, or process engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Experience developing and optimizing 2D and 3D manufacturing/industrial layouts.
- Understanding of process engineering, production flows, equipment placement, and facility layouts.
- Experience working with master layouts, engineering drawings, and layout revisions.
- Strong ability to identify spatial conflicts and develop practical layout solutions.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, automotive, power products, pharmaceutical, or other transferable industries.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Factory Twin / Digital Twin environments.
- Experience supporting production-line transformations, facility expansions, or manufacturing reconfigurations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in an onsite manufacturing environment.
