Job Summary: The Career Coach position is essential to our program’s Vocational Academy. This role is responsible for recruiting future participants, promoting the program, coach participants on job readiness and vocational skills opportunity programs, educate participants in creating or updating resumes and cover letters; this position will use personal knowledge and experience by facilitating groups of 25 participants at workshop sites and/or specific online platforms on employment trends and etiquette, create awareness of professional growth development, assist participants to discover and examine their interests and aptitudes by using assessment tools (e.g. CareerOneStop and MyNextMove), the Career Coach will collaborate with Career Manager and team members to effectively support participants’ personal and professional growth. Bilingual is highly preferred.
Some additional duties that are required consists of offering one-on-one meetings, cultivate participant interaction and engagement for the Vocational Academy opportunities, and enter appropriate documentation in the federal nFORM System according to compliance guidelines.
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work Marriage, and Family Studies, Psychology, or other related fields. Bilingual preferred
Experience Required: 2 years' experience in workforce development/career services, communication, and marketing.
