Quality Inspector
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished goods to ensure quality and accuracy, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Operate and maintain complex inspection equipment, including CMM, PECO Gear Analyzers, Vari-Roll, Marposs, Comparator, and other tools, performing preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Learn and apply gear nomenclature, programming PECO analyzers, and utilizing various software programs for inspection and analysis.
- Work closely with production teams to monitor process variables, ensure adherence to quality standards, and perform regular shop floor inspections to identify and address potential quality issues.
- Complete First Article Inspections, First Piece Approvals, PPAP documentation, and AS9102B / FAIR reports to meet aerospace quality requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Address customer concerns, participate in root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to ensure high-quality products and services.
- Manage calibration schedules for in-house and third-party equipment, ensuring accurate and timely calibrations.
- Train team members on inspection methods, equipment usage, and quality procedures, promoting a culture of quality and excellence.
- Support preparation of quality reports and assist in quarterly quality meetings, presenting findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the quality lab, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Associate's degree in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in quality inspection, quality control, or related field, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, industry regulations, and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software applications.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality and productivity targets.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Experience with CMM, PECO Gear Analyzers, Vari-Roll, Marposs, Comparator, and other inspection equipment.
- Programming skills in software applications such as PECO, CMM, and other inspection software.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Experience with quality control processes, including First Article Inspections, First Piece Approvals, and PPAP documentation.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including AS9102B and FAIR.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action procedures.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in quality inspection, quality control, or related field, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, industry regulations, and standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software applications.
