About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Patient Educator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to educate and prepare patients throughout their surgical journey, ensuring they fully understand the process, requirements, expectations, and recovery instructions.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to build trust with patients while providing clear and accurate information.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients on pre-operative instructions and requirements
- Review medications that must be discontinued prior to surgery
- Explain the recovery process and post-operative care instructions
- Review laboratory requirements, medical clearances, and necessary documentation
- Answer patient questions and address concerns
- Ensure patients fully understand the surgical process, risks, and expectations
- Follow up with patients to confirm readiness for surgery
- Help reduce cancellations by ensuring patients are properly informed and prepared
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare, patient coordination, customer service, or patient education preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and follow-up abilities
- Ability to explain medical information in a clear and compassionate manner
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) REQUIRED
- Detail-oriented and patient-focused
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
