CDL Driver Class A

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Hauling Truck Driver to safely transport heavy industrial equipment on long flatbed semi-trailers. This individual will play a critical role in supporting field operations by ensuring equipment is loaded, secured, and delivered safely, on time, and in full compliance with all DOT regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience hauling oversized and heavy industrial equipment such as compressors, ADI machines, ARS machines, dust collectors, sand blast pots, hoses, cables, and other related equipment. This role requires a valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, strict adherence to DOT hours-of-service and safety requirements, and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally on the road and at customer job sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A semi-tractor with long flatbed trailers to transport heavy industrial equipment
• Load, secure, and unload equipment including compressors, ADI machines, ARS machines, dust collectors, sand blast pots, hoses, cables, and other heavy equipment
• Properly chain, strap, and tarp loads to meet DOT securement standards and prevent damage or shifting in transit
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT requirements
• Plan routes accounting for load height, width, weight, and any required permits for oversized or overweight loads
• Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, and delivery documentation
• Comply with all DOT hours-of-service regulations and maintain an accurate driving log
• Communicate proactively with dispatch, operations, and customers regarding pickup and delivery schedules
• Coordinate with job site personnel for safe and efficient loading and unloading of equipment
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized truck and trailer
• Follow all company safety policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations at all times
• Assist with general equipment handling and rigging as needed

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
• Clean driving record with no major violations
• Must meet all DOT physical, licensing, and medical certification requirements
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening; drug-free required
• 2 years of experience hauling heavy equipment on flatbed trailers preferred
• Experience securing and transporting heavy industrial equipment, including:

◦ ADI machines

◦ ARS machines

◦ Dust collectors

◦ Sand blast pots

◦ Hoses and cables

◦ Other related heavy equipment

• Knowledge of proper load securement, chaining, strapping, and tarping techniques
• Familiarity with oversized/overweight load permitting and route planning is a plus
• Ability to safely operate flatbed equipment and use load securement tools (chains, binders, straps, tarps)
• Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations and hours-of-service rules
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver rigging and securement equipment up to 50 pounds
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including occasional overnight trips, as needed
