What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trial Attorney position at Avalon?
Personal Injury Trial Attorney — Irvine, CA
A well-established plaintiff's firm is expanding its Orange County litigation team and hiring a personal injury trial attorney.
This is a role for a litigator who wants to be in the courtroom. You'll own your cases from litigation through trial — motor vehicle and trucking matters, plaintiff-side — with the depositions, motion practice, and trial work that come with carrying your own inventory rather than supporting someone else's.
What you'd be doing
- Managing a docket of auto and trucking litigation cases through to resolution
- Taking and defending depositions; handling mediations, hearings, and court appearances
- Drafting the full range of litigation documents — pleadings, written discovery, demands, motions, and briefs
- Working directly with experts, including report and affidavit preparation
- Guiding clients through the litigation process
What we're looking for
- Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California
- Roughly 2 years of personal injury litigation experience (we'll talk to strong candidates a little under that with real trial exposure)
- Comfortable managing a high case volume
- Strong writing and oral advocacy
- A self-starter who's thinking about the long arc of their career, not just the next case. Insurance defense attorneys ready to switch sides are encouraged to apply — the deposition and trial reps you already have translate directly.
- If you're interested or want to hear more before deciding, reach out confidentially.
