Dietary Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team in a Long Term Care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food handling, with a keen understanding of food safety standards. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious dishes that meet our high standards for quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus.
• Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Utilize knife skills effectively for food preparation, ensuring precision and safety at all times.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling, and safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods.
• A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
