What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piano Instructor - Music School - Wylie, TX position at Avalon School of Music?
Avalon School of Music is a music school with locations in Wylie & Allen Texas, and we're looking for a piano instructor who can join our great organization. We teach all ages of students, from about 5 years old, through to adults, so the perfect candidate will have experience teaching all ages of students. We have over 500 students and are always looking for instructors to join the team! We only teach private 1-1 lessons, and each instructor has their own private studio. We recommend that each teacher tailor the instruction materials for each student, and focus the lessons in the areas that the student needs help with.

Requirements:
We prefer teaching experience, and a music degree is ideal. You may substitute playing / performing experience for a degree, but we're looking for a good working knowledge of music theory & sight reading, and be able to demonstrate your technical skills. We highly value great communications skills, and the ability to make the lessons fun for the students. You will be asked to sight read some sample music during the interview process. Experience teaching 5-12 year old students is a big plus !
We're currently growing, and would like an instructor who can teach on some or all of the following days:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
The schedule is based on your availability for teaching. We do our best to fill it up as much as you will allow us! There is about 5-10 students immediately we are able to give based on your current availability.

Pay rate is $30-40 per hour DOE.
This is a 1099 contractor position.
