Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on residents' needs and goals
- Assist residents with exercises and activities to improve their strength, mobility, and coordination
- Teach residents how to use adaptive equipment and assistive technology to perform daily activities
- Monitor residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Document residents' progress and communicate with other healthcare professionals
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to residents and their families
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- State licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Experience working in a skilled nursing facility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
