The Duty Manager position is based at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and will oversee the airport operations of the Seattle Tacoma Airline Consortium (STAC).
The Duty Manager role will oversee the work performed by STAC’s service providers, as well as, provide general support to the operation, which includes: monitoring of service providers’ performance metrics to ensure service quality and facilitate meetings with airlines and service providers.
This position requires shift work. As the Duty Manager you must be available to work 24 x 7 x 365 including weekends and holidays in support of airline operations. Approximately 25% of your work will take place outside and you could be exposed to temperature extremes.
The ideal candidate will have experience working at a commercial airport. Knowledge of airline baggage systems & management, customer service, strong interpersonal and computer skills, and effective handling with conflict resolution.
Responsibilities
- Responsible on behalf of STAC for the consortium’s hardstand busing operations, interline baggage, manual encoding, premium lane services, and future STAC operations.
- Attending daily/weekly/monthly meetings representing STAC and provide updates / reports of STAC operations.
- Proactively oversee operational performance of STAC service providers, systems, and services.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation.
- Conduct regular inspections of STAC equipment, facilities, and services to facilitate continuous improvement and minimize equipment downtime
- Respond to and mitigate emergencies as necessary. Administer Accident Report Procedure as applicable.
- Act as a liaison between the airlines, airport, government agencies, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Prepare daily reports to outline all pertinent activities, service or maintenance issues and provide detailed information to General Manager.
- Review daily service & equipment logs and ensure proper resolution of issues.
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly facility audits/walks to including terminal, ramp, and public areas
- Prepare weekly interline baggage reports for STAC Members.
- Maintain quality control standards for performance, reliability, serviceability, and safety.
- Host and support monthly STAC meetings, maintain meeting minutes and deadlines.
- Prepare regular required service performance reports.
- Assist in the preparation, review and tracking of STAC contracts and evaluate contractual performance.
- Conduct audits of STAC’s airport operations.
Requirements
- A two or four-year college or university degree preferred.
- Professional work experience in aviation industry preferred.
- Advanced computer skills with MS software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Exemplify a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and time management to deliver high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
- Team orientation with ability to work well across organizations and with a multi-functional team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $78,000.00 - $81,000.00 per year
