Structural Design Specialist (Revit / Structural Analysis)
Avail Technical Design Group, LLC (ATDG) is seeking a motivated Structural Design Specialist to support structural engineering, building design, and permit development projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both structural engineering analysis and production drafting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing structural analysis, developing Revit structural models, preparing structural construction documents, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and other design professionals.
This position is offered as a 1099 subcontractor with the opportunity for long-term collaboration as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis using RAM Structural System or similar structural analysis software.
- Develop structural Revit models for commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
- Prepare structural framing plans, details, schedules, sections, and permit-ready construction documents.
- Assist with foundation, steel, wood, concrete, and masonry structural design.
- Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, civil, MEP, and other consultants.
- Revise drawings based on engineering markups and project review comments.
- Assist with existing building evaluations and field verification projects.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and client meetings as required.
- Maintain organized project files and follow ATDG drafting standards.
- Support multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines.
- Perform additional structural design and technical production tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience using Autodesk Revit.
- Experience with RISA 3D or comparable structural analysis software.
- Working knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary design team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
- Experience with RISA, RAM Elements, Enercalc, STAAD, or similar software.
- Experience preparing permit-ready structural drawing packages.
- Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, and consulting engineers.
- Experience producing structural details and construction documentation.
Compensation
- $25.00–$35.00 per hour
- 1099 Independent Contractor
- Compensation based on experience, technical ability, and software proficiency.
