The RN Operating Room plays a vital role in providing specialized nursing care in a surgical environment. This registered nurse collaborates with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, maintain sterile conditions, and support surgical procedures efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing operating rooms for surgical procedures
- Maintain sterile fields and adhere to aseptic techniques
- Monitor patient vital signs and condition before, during, and after surgery
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff
- Manage surgical instruments and supplies throughout procedures
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding surgery
- Document patient care and surgical activities accurately
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in operating room nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong OR circulating experience
- Familiarity with operating room procedures and protocols
- Experience as an RN in a surgical or operating room setting
