Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Avacend Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for hospital Medical-Surgical contract opportunities in Atlanta, Georgia. Multiple day and night positions are available, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week.

Position Details

• Schedule: Days or nights; 36 hours per week
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Pay: $48–$52/hour W-2, paid weekly
• Start: Immediate openings
• Extensions or direct-hire opportunities may be available based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and communicate changes in condition.
• Administer IV and oral medications safely.
• Develop and update care plans and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and families about treatment and ongoing care.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and interdisciplinary care team.
• Follow infection-control and isolation protocols.
• Monitor telemetry patients when assigned.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of acute-care Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Active Georgia RN license or multistate RN license valid in Georgia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and patient education skills, along with experience in electronic health records, care planning, infection control, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
