AV Veterinary Center is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our hospital. What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clients and patients receive outstanding care from the moment they walk through our doors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet clients and patients with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude
  • Answer a multi-line phone system promptly and professionally
  • Schedule appointments efficiently while maximizing doctor schedules
  • Check clients in and out accurately
  • Process payments and maintain balanced cash drawer procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records using veterinary software (Cornerstone experience is a plus)
  • Respond to emails, text messages, and online appointment requests
  • Educate clients on preventive care, wellness plans, medications, and hospital services
  • Communicate clearly with doctors, technicians, and support staff
  • Obtain and verify patient histories when appropriate
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Assist with administrative tasks, filing, scanning, and inventory as needed
  • Handle difficult situations with professionalism, empathy, and composure
  • Support other departments when business demands require teamwork

Qualifications

  • Veterinary reception experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Customer service experience required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Experience with veterinary software (Cornerstone or similar) is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work around animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers

Schedule

  • Full-Time or Part-Time
  • Weekends and some holidays required
  • Day, evening, and rotating shifts as needed

Pay: $16.90 - $19.00 per hour
