What are the responsibilities and job description for the Millwork Design Engineer SolidWorks position at AV-Line USA Inc.?
At AV-Line, we work with companies in high-end architectural millwork, custom woodworking, and production-focused CAD/CAM workflows. Our team has many years of international experience with SolidWorks, SWOOD, CNC data, shop drawings, production documentation, and process improvement.
AV-Line USA is now further expanding that expertise in the U.S. market.
About the Role
This is an entry-level role with a long-term path into SWOOD, CAD/CAM workflows, and customer implementation support for high-end architectural millwork companies.
We are looking for someone with basic SolidWorks experience, a strong interest in woodworking or millwork, and the motivation to learn how CAD connects to real production.
SWOOD experience is not required. We will train the right person.
An initial 1–3 month in-office training period in Loveland, Colorado is required. Hybrid or fully remote work may be available after the training period, depending on performance, role requirements, and project needs.
Your day at AV-Line
• Create and update SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings
• Turn custom design ideas into buildable millwork solutions
• Assist with shop drawings and production files
• Review drawings, models, and project information for accuracy
• Support customer projects and software implementation
• Learn how CAD data connects to CNC, nesting, reports, labels, and production workflows
You May Be a Good Fit If You
• Have experience with 3D CAD/CAM tools
• Have an interest or experience in woodworking, cabinetry, furniture, architectural millwork, or manufacturing
• Can read technical drawings, or are eager to learn
• Are curious about how things are actually built
• Pay strong attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and are willing to ask questions
• Enjoy CAD workflows, problem-solving, and technical learning
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SolidWorks
• Experience with CNC software, WoodWOP, bSolid, Maestro, or similar software
• Woodworking, cabinetmaking, furniture, millwork, or manufacturing experience
