Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Estimator position based in Phoenix, AZ. The Junior Estimator will support the Senior Estimator by preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals for utility and civil construction projects. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications, obtaining pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, assisting with cost analysis, maintaining estimating records, and helping prepare bid submissions. The role will also coordinate with project management and field teams to ensure estimates meet company standards, safety requirements, and client expectations
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating or similar field role (underground utility experience highly preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility plans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software; familiarity with estimating or takeoff software is preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple estimates and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge or coursework in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field; previous estimating or construction experience is a plus.
- Understanding of basic construction methods, utilities, and site work; interest in dry utility, wet utility, and civil infrastructure projects.
