What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Trades - Carpenter - 25-26 position at Auxiliary Services Facility?
Reports To: Auxiliary Services Supervisor
Qualifications:
. The candidate should be able to read written directions and literature in his/her field, be able to express
himself/herself clearly, both orally and in writing.
. Must have at least four (4) years experience as a journeyman carpenter in both rough and finish
carpentry in the construction field or have successfully completed the apprentice program with
the school district.
. Be capable of making repairs and installing door hardware, cutting and glazing glass in sash and doors.
. Make material takeoffs from blueprints and sketches and be capable of ordering same in an efficient
and economical manner.
. Possess a valid operator's license.
. Must be neat in appearance.
Description:
Under direction of Supervision and the Carpenter Leader, the Carpenter is responsible for carrying out job assignments of the Carpentry Department and will perform such other duties as:
. Carry out work assignments and fill out work orders.
. Perform general repairs to buildings and equipment, which involves general carpentry ability.
. Install and repair door hardware and doors.
. Install window glass and glazing.
. Construct miscellaneous shelving.
. Construct cupboards, hand and repair wood doors, toilet partitions and mirrors.
. Repair wood flooring, stage fronts, stairs, chairs and storage doors.
. Build storage cabinets, sink cabinets, etc.
. Forming for concrete walks, curbs, etc.
. Repair desks, tops, seats and general repairs..
. Must be able to operate a mechanical man-lift and operate forklift
. Pick up debris and perform other duties that pertain to the job classification.
. Repair wooden playground equipment.
. Perform welding and brazing duties.
Salary : $26 - $29
