The Opportunity
The Electrical Project Manager will own the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects across commercial and industrial environments. This person will partner closely with field leadership, estimators, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
This is a builder’s role — ideal for someone who is equally comfortable coordinating with the client, internal team in the morning and walking a job site in the afternoon. As the company grows, so does the scope of this role, with a clear path toward expanded project and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead all phases of electrical construction projects — planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, installation, and closeout.
- Coordinate with field supervisors, electricians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment on scope and timelines.
- Maintain project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
- Ensure all work meets NEC standards, safety requirements, and company's electric’s quality expectations.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.
- Build long-term relationships that reinforce company's reputation for doing the job right.
Budget, Cost &Schedule Control
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
- Review and approve invoices, change orders, and subcontractor pay applications.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or overruns.
Field Coordination & Safety
- Partner with field leadership to ensure crews have the resources, materials, and information needed to execute work safely and efficiently.
- Support jobsite safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Conduct site walks to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to plans.
Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong working relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, scopes, and schedules as needed.
Business Development & Estimating
- Make initial contact with prospective clients to determine project scope, requirements, and key details.
- Develop accurate bids for new projects, incorporating estimates from internal departments and outside sources as required.
- Review and prepare contracts; attend all relevant project meetings from kickoff through closeout.
- Oversee the shop drawing submittal process; ensure project completion documentation and closeout manuals are accurate and delivered on time.
- Schedule and coordinate required inspections; ensure labor and invoices are tracked to the correct job or project.
- Coordinate workflow across all internal Electric departments; assist with resolving project delays as they arise.
Work Arrangement
This is a flexible role. Operations span both Topeka (HQ) and Lenexa.
You are trusted to work where you're most effective, as long as you deliver on the full scope of the role. Regular in-person presence is expected to build relationships, understand field operations, and stay connected to the team and culture.
Travel between Topeka and Lenexa is normal and reimbursed per company policy.
Qualifications
Required
- 3–7 years of electrical construction project management experience (commercial or industrial).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, NEC codes, and installation practices.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams.
- Excellent communication skills with both field and office personnel.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites.
Preferred
- Journeyman or Master Electrician background.
- Experience with design-build projects.
- Familiarity with construction management software and digital documentation tools.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and building information modeling (BIM) software.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction plans and specifications across a variety of project types.
- Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
