We are experiencing rapid growth and looking to expand our team. We are seeking Full-Time, Lead Med Tech/Scheduler for dayshift to be part of enriching the daily lives of our residents. Essential Functions- Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the following duties:
Scheduling and Staffing:
- Create and maintain bi-weekly work schedules for all nursing staff, including full-time and part-time employees, ensuring all shifts are covered per state staffing requirements.
- Accurately input Paid Time Off (PTO), holidays, and coverage needs into scheduling software or tracking systems.
- Maintain and update daily assignment sheets as needed, including last-minute changes and shift coverage.
- Monitor staffing levels to ensure compliance with state regulations and meet the care needs of residents.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for schedule management and shift coverage.
Training and Development:
- Facilitate a monthly training session titled “Cardinal University” for all new PCAs to support onboarding, increase competency, and uphold high care standards.
- Coordinate and conduct CPR training sessions for all nursing staff and ensure all certifications are current and documented.
- Provide and monitor individualized training schedules for all new hires, with regular follow-ups during and after the training period.
Onboarding and Recruitment:
- Conduct interviews with prospective nursing department candidates based on current staffing needs.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure completion of onboarding requirements.
- Complete and maintain onboarding paperwork, ensuring timely and thorough processing of all documentation.
Compliance and Supplies:
- Maintain fully stocked and compliant first aid kits across the facility in accordance with state guidelines.
- Track and support state-required hours and training compliance for all nursing personnel.
- Ensure that all nursing schedules remain fully staffed and adjust hiring strategies as needed to maintain adequate coverage.
Direct Care and Additional Duties:
- Work on the floor for a minimum of one weekend per month and additionally as needed to support schedule demands.
- Complete the Certified Medication Technician (CMT) course as a job requirement.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor, RCC, DOW, and/or Administrator.
Education & Knowledge Requirements- Specific education, certification, and licensure:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Med Techs must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Successful completion of the DHS Medication Assistance Training program.
- Must maintain a valid and current Medication Administration Certificate and complete annual trainings and certifications as required.
- Successful completion of the PA DPW Direct Care Staff Person Training Course/Test
- CPR Instructor Certification (willingness to complete upon hire)
Essential Job-Related Experience/Abilities:
- Ability to complete the necessary physical movements to move residents by wheelchair
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to walk continuously, bend frequently, and sit occasionally
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally (1-33% of workday)
- Ability to complete and maintain documentation regarding a resident’s status
