Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain vehicle powertrain components, transmissions, and suspension systems, ensuring optimal vehicle performance.
- Conduct wheel alignments and vehicle suspension system repairs to manufacturer specifications.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams for electrical repairs and troubleshoot automotive electrical systems effectively.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, GM vehicles, and other European makes with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid replacements while adhering to safety standards.
- Assist in auto estimating processes by accurately assessing repair needs and communicating findings clearly to customers.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote efficiency.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Extensive knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology and its calibration procedures.
- Ability to interpret schematics and automotive wiring diagrams for electrical troubleshooting.
- Solid mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, suspension, and electrical components.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service machinery.
- Experience with vehicle transmission system repair and vehicle suspension system repair techniques.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service best practices in an automotive setting.
- Strong technical proficiency in diagnosing complex electrical issues within automotive electrical systems.
- Demonstrated mechanic experience working on diesel engines, GM vehicles, or other European makes is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and repair tasks.
